Im helping a local small site out with some new game ideas. thought id run this by yourselves see what you think.
Its an idea based on american football (dont know why, im not even a fan of it...)
2 teams
say 6 bases (1-6)
imagine a ''half way line'' between 3 and 4 and ''touchdown lines'' at 1 and 6.
One team attacking (A) from 3, one defending (D) at 4.
A attacks D they have say 3 respawns or 5 mins to kill D who have 0 respawns and cannot leave their base.
If A succeeds (all D dead), i.e. they make a ''down'' or whatever its called, the game restarts with A moving forward one base (to 4) and D falling back one base (to 5) and play restarts with the same rules.
If A fails (dead or time limit) teams remain in position but switch roles, i.e. A is now D and D is now A.
The game ends completely when a touchdown is made at 1 or 6
The main reason for thingking of this idea was to localise play on an otherwise large game area but utilise every part of the game area (eventually). Assuming bases are close enough, this will also eliminate most longshotters playing the long and boring game in the wind, and it also forces people to attack as fast as poss given a time limit thats very short. The bases dont need to be in a line either, whilst 3 and 4 say are in use. the other buildings can be used by A but their sole objective is D current buidling. Once D's building is taken A starts again from one building etc etc
Let me know what you think, especially any loop holes you can think of that might mess this up
