BDA's are really simple! Its basically an after action report, in the Army, these are typically written as soon as the section commander or troop commander returns from a patrol or operation! Reason being is that its fresh in his/her head and they're not likely to miss anything out. Considering you guys have to drive home, tend to the wife and kids or whatever it is that you do, its more than likely going to be a few hours if not days after you have skirmished! When writing up your BDA's try to be as diligent and include as much information as you can, allowing me and the other members, the readers, to picture as best we can what it is your explaining! I'll list below some key elements that should be included in your BDAs.
- Include who was involved in your mission, objective, task, skirmish, team or whatever.
- Weapons & attached arms. (i.e snipers, support weapons, CQB etc.)
- Include the game type, mission directive, task etc.
- Include as many pictures or videos as you can, be sure to give explanations and justifications relevant to said video or picture.
- Most importantly, give your BDA a beginning a middle and an end!! Be as descriptive and accurate as you possibly can!! Detail what went right, what went wrong, how you and your team could of conducted your selves differently, what you could of done differently in terms of attacks, withdrawals and snap ambushes!
- Get as creative as you can and most importantly! Enjoy typing your BDA! Humor it, as with the editorials, this will reflect on you as an Airsofter!
