As my gear/collection has increased over the years ive always been concsious of if im carrying something just for the sake of carrying it, even if im not going to use it. We've all seen this and probably have done so at times and, although i do carry a lot now, its because i will be using it/im out for a long time so may need it.
Helmets then are one of those things that really arent 'necessary' as we dont need that protection (I hope) and verge into this line of 'why bother'. NVG's are an obvious excuse but how many of us use them? Helmet torches etc are cool but is it too much? Finally the topic of this thread, cameras. I use a gopro and love to play back headcam footage of games but wearing one is actually quite uncomfortable at times. The headstrap is for obvious reasons grippy and tight and always hacks me off when tangled in my bowman headset strap. Ive tried a sticky mount on the peak of a cap but you'd be surprised how much wait you can feel on the peak of your cap! So that pretty much leaves helmets.
The recent helmet fad is the FAST type helmets which look good but is it too much just for a camera mount?
Any of you guys use these helmets game in game out?
What do you use on your helmet, or is it literally just for looks?
Im looking to get one, but I need to try/hear some reviews from users first. Any opinions you have share here please! Also include pics always good to see
cheers

I'm thinking of getting a helmet for a cam so I'll be watching this thread with a beady eye!

You could always mount it on the gun or Shoulder cam if they exist.

Yeah i never liked helmets. I just go with a scrim bandana and head strap with my gopro. It can get a little annoying but then a helmet would annoy me even more.

well i went down the sod it lets just see what happens and bought one off the dark alleys of second hand land. I got a clone FAST type helmet (unsure of clone brand), and with it I decided I'd earnt myself some new specs (airsofter logic...) so I grabbed a pair of the smith optics boogie regulator goggles with bungee straps. Also painted the helmet up a bit and added bungee cord for anything i wanna strap to it temporarily whilst in game. Its light weight, thin and doesnt cover too much of the head to reduce heat issues. With a gopro on the front its a little weighted down but the bungee straps of the glasses seemed to have worked that out by chance. You can adjust the padding inside plenty enough for any sized head and the chin strap has a nice soft faux leather bit for comfort round your chin. a quick, very brief review but thought some you guys may be interested
